Requirments for a Graduate Minor
Minor Outside Mathematics
Mathematics graduate students may request a minor in another graduate program at ISU provided they meet the following:
- Must receive permission and meet requirements of the minor department.
- Must have a minor representative from the minor department on the POS.
- POS committee must approve the minor and the courses.
- Minor must be declared on the POS and listed on all pertinent paperwork.
Minor in Applied Mathematics or Mathematics
Ph.D. students from other disciplines of graduate study who declare a graduate minor in Mathematics are required to have:
- A knowledge of advanced calculus and abstract algebra;
- At least 12 credits in mathematics courses acceptable for graduate credit;
- At least 6 of the above 12 credits from 500- or 600-level mathematics courses.
