Scholarships and awards

With the exception of the LAS scholarship, items listed below are available only to students who are currently majoring in mathematics at ISU or will be mathematics majors in the fall. Mathematics may be a second major.

The application deadline for Spring 2009 is Monday, March 23, by noon.

Scholarships and awards will be presented at our annual awards ceremony on Friday, May 8.

A scholarship can only be used to pay tuition at Iowa State University. To collect the money, you need to be enrolled as a mathematics major at ISU during the school year following the award. Most scholarships are available to incoming students.

Scholarships are normally paid out in two parts, Fall and Spring semester. If you know that you will only be a student in one of those semesters, yo can petition to receive the full amount in either semseter.

You need to apply, or have one of your teachers apply for you, for the scholarships.

Each award comes with an unrestricted cash payment. These awards require taht you are currently enrolled as a math major, but not necessarily the following year. All currentl awards are selected by the Mathematics Department Undergraduate Committee. Applications are neither required nor accepted.
