Glynn fractal

The Glynn fractal in the titlebar was mathematically constructed by Dan Ashlock.

Too many Iowa students struggle with the transition from high school to university mathematics study.

Transition difficulties affect decisions about courses, majors and even careers.

To assist in this transition, the Iowa Math Science Education Partnership (IMSEP) recently published the Iowa High Schools-to-Regent Universities Mathematics Transition Guide (MTG).

Now, MORE help is on the way

A team of mathematics professionals (university faculty/administrators) is organizing presentations across Iowa at which they will visit face-to-face with educators, students and parents about managing this transition.

The team will answer questions regarding study in mathematics and the mathematical requirements for other majors.

Visits will also feature a special topic, and teachers will receive a supplemmath studentsental practical publication following the event in your AEA.

Who should attend

All public and private 9-12 teachers of mathematics, high school students and their parents, administrators, guidance counselors and TAG coordinators.
