Week of March 3, 2008
Evan's DOE Theoretical Chemical Physics Program renewed
Following submission of a proposal to DOE and an on-site review in 2007, funding has been renewed for the Chemical Physics program at Ames Laboratory for which Jim Evans is a lead-PI. Total support is $330K/year for 3 years with about $150K/year supporting research specifically in Evans' group (mainly salaries). In addition, a separate Catalysis progam was renewed on which Victor Lin is PI and which provides $16K/year to support Evans's research.
Costumed Cubic Contest
Mark your calendars for next week: come watch the fnals of Leslie Hogben's 489 students (History of Mathematics) as they participate in the annual Cubic Contest!

Deadlines
- NSF IGERT preproposals should be submitted to the VPR office by close of business on Monday, March 3, 2008. TODAY
- Preproposals for Iowa MAA meeting talks are due Friday, March 21.
