Computational Materials Science Meeting at ISU

On Friday/Saturday, October 5-6, there will be a workshop held on the ISU campus focusing on "Multiscale studies in computational materials science" featuring around 20 speakers. Details.

The Putnam Exam

Every year, thousands of students in the U.S. and Canada take an exam in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition. This year's exam will take place on Saturday, December 1 in 408 Carver Hall. Interested students may pick up an application from Elgin Johnston (396C Carver) by noon on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Practice sessions will be held on Thursdays, 4:00 to 5:30, beginning October 18.

Free online seminars to develop mathematics skills

Wolfram Education Group offers a series of free online seminars each week on topics of interest to Mathematica newcomers as well as experienced users.

Seminars are taught live by senior Wolfram staff and provides a convenient way for you to develop your Mathematica skills. No background or previous experience is necessary, but registration is required. Please note all times are U.S. Eastern Daylight, GMT -04:00: View schedule and sign up here.
