LAS RFP re computer-based instructional materials
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has issued a call for proposal for the development and application of computer-based instructional materials for LAS courses. Computer-based instructional materials have great potential for enhancing student-learning experiences in LAS courses including through improved access to course materials, more individualized instruction and interactive learning materials.
Proposals are due in 202 Catt Hall by November 5. Submissions should include the original proposal and 12 copies. Word PDF

The Art of Celebrating
The visibilty provided by the north walll of windows in Carver Hall made it a great space to house new pop machines featuring portions of the Sesquicentennial mural, "What We Love About Iowa State."
On Friday, October 18, ISU Dining installed the first two freshly embellished pop machines on the main level of Carver Hall. Pepsi got the west side, Dr. Pepper got the right.
Robert Parrish, ISU vending manager, said 18 more machines will be placed around campus in the next couple of weeks, and will likely remain in place through the current vending contracts, which may be up to three years. The cost to install each machine was approximately $175, which does not include the art work.
There has been discussion about auctioning either the fronts of the machines or the whole machines when the contracts expire.
